The Sonoco Institute of Packaging Design and Graphics undertook a study to test the hypothesis that a package embellished with foil would increase attention to the product when compared to the same product without foil. The results were clear. Using Tobi glasses that measure pupil movements the packaging using foil stamping outperformed those packages that did not.
